At a time when sustainability is of ecological and economic importance, Reynders wants to be an innovative pioneer. We consider it crucial to work on sustainable entrepreneurship. This translates into small actions, but equally big investments. The goal is to be a socially responsible construction company and to do our bit for a sustainable and innovative future. We list a few actions below.

CO₂ performance ladder

Through the CO₂ performance ladder level 5, we map our energy consumption and our CO₂ emissions and set to work to reduce our emissions. The CO₂ performance ladder is a management system of SKAO (Foundation for Climate-Friendly Procurement & Business) and was created to encourage companies to act (more) CO₂-consciously.

The CO₂ performance ladder is an effective tool for making gains in various areas in our business operations and when realising projects. The focus is mainly on the efficient use of materials, energy savings and the use of renewable energy. Since 2022, we have been awarded a CO₂ performance ladder level 3 certificate, and since 2025 we have advanced to level 5.

Greenbox = a sustainable alternative to diesel generators

As an alternative to diesel generators, we operate mobile city batteries on several construction sites. Thanks to these plug-and-play battery systems, we are accelerating the transition to renewable energy. These batteries provide the power we need, for example to drive up to 3 cranes with one 32 ampere connection, without overloading the electricity grid. They do not require periodic maintenance and what’s more, this way we work without additional noise pollution for local residents.

BIM

Reynders uses BIM or Building Information Modelling to support the entire construction process. From the elaboration and detailing of site layouts, non-ladder plan, crane capacities, required quantities, IFC, schedule to pain points and optimisations. Virtual reality, 3D printing, 4D, 5D and artificial intelligence help shape this process. BIM is not only a convenient visual communication tool for everyone on site, it also collects data to better analyse where and when we need to make adjustments.

LEAN

Huge amounts of information from different parties are bundled in an interactive model. In this way, failure costs can be reduced and construction execution can be monitored more efficiently with LEAN planning. Together with subcontractors and suppliers, efficiency is created according to LEAN principles. Planning is regularly coordinated and adjusted with all parties. Potential conflicts are thus preventively resolved or quickly detected.

TOPSOLID

For our furniture projects, we always work with TopSolid, an innovative CAD CAM integrated software for mechanical engineering, mould making, sheet metal, machining, tool and die making and wood design. TopSolid ensures full integration of design and manufacturing processes, preventing errors and speeding up time-to-finish. From concept to prototype, with TopSolid Reynders streamlines the workflow and production cycle of any furniture project.
